Apollonia's baby news

Margaret Rose Winnemucca Lightfoot made her appearance in the world at 5:46 a.m. on June 7, much to our delight and surprise. Rose weighed in at a whopping 4 pounds 11 ounces and measured 18 inches long (see attached scale photo). She is healthy and thriving, and we are all doing well.

Stella's Last Day of School

Stella had her last day of school on Tuesday. This is her school portrait. Her favorite movie is currently "Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses" (which we got "in the mail" after going "on the compooter") and she just got a Barbie Fairytopia doll at Target ("Target is my favorite store"). Lately she has been wearing her pink "princess" dress-up dress or blue "Sleeping Beauty" dress-up dress with her sparkly butterfly sandals. She tells me that when she grows up she is going to be a mommy.

a week late, but here are some pix from the southern wedding! highlights [most of which are not pixtured here] included: upgrading from a corolla to a miata; trees, everywhere trees; the most beautiful swamp ever; the chappel so full people stood outside the floor to ceiling windows; a verrandah buffet; the bluegrass band covering the rolling stones and wilco; scoring a slice of the carrot cake; sitting at the table as pam and matt signed wedding papers.
the south is just about as different from home as europe.

Almost as fun as Europe
Stella's first trip to Disneyland

We have entered the Magical Kingdom with a spark in our eyes and a readiness for whatever surprises might await us. On Main Street happy travelers pose for photos with Mickey Mouse who is alive with the spirit of a new day. His ears shine like black diamonds set off by the blue sky behind him. As we jaunt down the cobbled rode we can only be in awe by the castle in front of us. The pristine pool of water below reflects its beauty. We make our way through Fantasyland to the Dumbo ride where the proud and gentle long-nosed creatures fly above our heads. We are in awe that we have the privilege to experience all that Walt made possible, and the look on Stella's face—her wide-eyed stare and joyous expression—brings tears to my eyes. This truly is the happiest place on earth.
